WOW!house, one of London's top show houses, isheld each summer at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour.
This drawing room, one of the largest spaces in the property, began as a blank, white box. Fromental, the renowned Britishwall covering house, reimagined its Kiku wallpaper for the space, hand-painting and embroidering a pattern of chrysanthemums and sunflowers against a soft grey-pink ground. Decorative borders drew from Arts and Crafts motifs, with the flowers themselves signaling the Aesthetic Movement. The ceiling is covered in Fromental's reinterpretation of a textile by Candace Wheeler, a pioneering American textile designer, contemporary of William Morris, and one of the first women in the decorative arts. Her honeycomb and bee motif is interwoven here with brambles and Tiffany-inspired butterflies.

Developed through conversation with Fromental, the room took shape around a cross-cultural idea, acknowledging both American and British traditions of Arts and Crafts design, along with theJapanese visual influences both traditions absorbed in the late nineteenth century. The materials throughout carry that same handmade, tactile quality: a graphic patchwork rug by Kyle Bunting, sculptural furnishings from Alexander Lamont, Julian Chichester, Pinch, and Demuro Das, textiles from Romo, and a bespoke STRIKE fireplace. The room evokes a private members club, designed for conversation, music, and a late-night drink, meant to feel welcoming and comfortable.
